Gregg- Thanks so very much for sharing this Eulogy with us on FB. You created an image in my mind of the person that Jared had become as he matured over his brief but meaningful lifetime. Sounds as if he would have been a person with whom I could also identify as a "humanist".

Thank you Gregg for sharing your words! I was sad to hear the news, and disappointed that I was unable to make it to Jared's service. You are an inspiration

Gregg, if you're in a hurry to get it out, do both. Self publish it via Amazon and then seek a publisher while it's on the market. That said, know that a self-published book—according to a panel of publishers and editors I listened to the other day—carries no more weight than a manuscript. But at least you got it out there and you're getting some feedback.

Your site looks great, by the way.

Howdy, Gregg! You weren't by chance at the Jack in the Box by exit 36 in Nampa, ID a few days ago were you? I saw a white pickup with fast draw stickers all over it parked there. I didn't make the connection until I investigated your web site. If it was you, we didn't recognize each other! I'm on FaceBook if you want to say "Hi", or feel free to use the email address listed here. My cell is the same as it was in Carson City.

I really love the area described in this book: Carson City, Virginia City, Reno, having lived there almost ten years. If you're at all familiar with the Sierra Mountains or the areas mentioned, I think you'll enjoy it! And look for mention of some of my favorite places: Bower's Mansion in Washoe Valley, the Bucket of Blood Saloon, St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Carson City. And the Stewart Indian School (closed in 1980 land, now used by the Washoe tribe and the State of Nevada) was just a mile or so from my house!

Oh, I get it. My friends would say BFE, but I have no idea what that stands for. They would also say "bum-f**k nowhere," but that's probably not what you want to name your first novel. :)
